To become the most trusted and most compliant pharmaceutical cannabis manufacturer globally — and to prove that the standard is set in Africa.

SafriCanna is not an agricultural project that sells to pharmacy. It is a pharmaceutical manufacturer that happens to grow its own active raw material, in the one place on earth where climate, light and altitude do work that European producers must replicate mechanically. Our commercial argument is not price and it is not scale. It is that a buyer's regulator, qualified person and auditor find nothing to question.

Who we are

A South African pharmaceutical cannabis company

SafriCanna is a South African company focused on the cultivation, processing, manufacture and export of EU-GMP medicinal cannabis to licensed international markets. Our intent is a premium, fully integrated, intrinsically South African medicines offering held to European pharmaceutical standards.

What we do

We cultivate active raw material, process and manufacture it under EU-GMP Part 1 certification, and release finished product against analytical data for supply to licensed importers, wholesalers and healthcare professionals. Cultivation, processing and quality control sit inside one controlled, documented operation rather than across a chain of unrelated suppliers.

Accreditation

SAHPRA licensed cultivation and export, EU-GMP Part 1 certified manufacture with EudraLex listing, GACP certified good agricultural and collection practice, and CUMCS certification. Each certification is stated with the scope and the holder it was issued to, so a counterparty can verify rather than assume.

Why the market matters

Medicinal cannabis is prescribed or otherwise lawfully used under medical supervision in a growing number of jurisdictions, and clinical research continues to expand. We describe that context only; we make no claims about what any product treats. Clinical information belongs to the prescriber and the marketing authorisation holder.

Who we supply

Licensed counterparties only: importers, wholesalers, manufacturers and pharmacies holding the authorisations their own jurisdiction requires. We do not supply the public, we do not sell direct to patients, and we do not trade product outside a documented, GDP-compliant chain of custody.

Regulatory position

This website is corporate information for licensed and professional audiences. It is not promotional material for a medicine, contains no therapeutic claims, and is not intended for patients or the general public.

The four pillars

Place, process, proof and practice.

Place

Cultivated where the science says it should be

Pretoria sits on the Gauteng highveld at roughly 1,500 m. High-UV light, a long stable growing season, low ambient pathogen pressure and a dry harvest window give controlled-environment cultivation a natural advantage that European indoor production has to buy with electricity.

The Pretoria case

Process

A medicines plant, not a farm

Air-lock entry, gowning and shower protocol, positive-pressure cleanrooms, validated environmental monitoring, full batch records, deviation logging and qualified-person release. The operation is engineered to pharmaceutical law rather than agricultural convention.

Inside the facility

Proof

Compliance is the product

EU-GMP Part 1 certification, EudraLex listing, SAHPRA licensing, GACP and CUMCS certification, GDP-compliant cold chain and unbroken traceability from mother stock to sealed pallet. Each claim is stated with its scope and holder.

Certification framework

Practice

Finished by hand, released on data

Post-harvest handling is done by hand to protect trichome and terpene integrity, then verified analytically. Craft is a quality-control decision here, not a marketing story.
